The Gay Family Papers (1951-1975; one legal folder) include biographical information on Mary L. Gay, who was an early teacher in Huntsville, Texas. The collection also contains the Gay Family Tree, correspondence from Salome Gay Long, and documents on Southern Genealogy.
Collection Historical Note
Mary L. Gay was a teacher in Huntsville, Texas from 1870 until 1898. She first taught at Andrew Female College then in Huntsville public schools. She died in Huntsville, Texas in 1909.
