Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Charles Potts Collection contains poetry, verse, music, and other media. The works in this collection are by Charles Potts himself, as well as many other counter culture artists and agencies.

Collection Historical Note

Charles Potts is an American author and musician who helped to popularize the counter-culture movement of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Potts founded the Litmus publishing company and literary magazine, which is responsible for the publication of counter-culture writers like Charles Bukowski. Charles Potts is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Washington Poets Association, along with many other awards.
