The Fletcher Native American Documents Collection contains communications from the United States government, pamphlets, and illustrations regarding the cultures and treatment of Native American tribes throughout the founding of the country.

Collection Historical Note

The Fletcher Native American Documents Collection was donated to Sam Houston State University by Thomas Fletcher.  Thomas Fletcher was a Houston collector, whose family previously resided in Huntsville, Texas.  He gave many generous donations in this field to the university.
