Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection is comprised of materials related to General Sam Houston. The clippings mainly represent the celebration of his legacy. Biographical materials, correspondence and manuscript materials also contain material from and by General Sam Houston. There are photos of Sam Houston's law office, his old home and monument. Plays that portray different aspects of the life of Sam Houston are also a part of this collection.This collection was accumulated by former librarians in the Thomason Room.
