Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection contains materials pertaining to Lee Emmerich Jamison and his work as a local artist. It contains newspaper clippings, articles, an art show invitation, as well as a pamphlet featuring some of Jamison’s works.

Collection Historical Note

Lee Emmerich Jamison is a predominantly regional painter living in Huntsville, Texas. Jamison graduated with a degree in art from Centenary College of Louisiana, and has been a full time artist in Texas since 1982. Lee has worked for over 4 decades producing upwards of 2,000 works of art. He is well recognized and has been commissioned by many notable organizations, such as the University of Texas, Baylor University, Driskell Hotel, and many others. His work is also featured in the personal collection of former president George H.W. Bush. Many of his paintings can been seen at Sam Houston State University.
